Maya Sapera:What does the creation process of a dancer look like? What do choreographers from different backgrounds have in common? How can we inspire each other?
To me the lockdown period was a time of inspiration, reflection and sharing. It was a time to deepen myself. I am specialised in Indian dances. As Indian dance is a niche art, save a few exceptions, I wanted to break free from this idea by starting a dialogue with artists in the field. My wish is to open up a route towards the Western art scene and build bridges in the society I live in.So I started to talk with lovely inspiring people. This resulted in a broad spectrum of visions on choreography and creation.Through “cross-roads in dance” I want to share those interestings indepth conversations with you. Enjoy the ride!’
